Promote your book the easy, natural way

Saturday, October 27, 2012 - 10:30am - 12:30pm
Admission: Members $35 / Public $50
Location: 3rd Floor Classrooms

This workshop takes the anxiety out of book promotion, and replaces it with a natural, authentic conversation between you and the people who most want to read what you have written.

  • THE TOOLS YOU NEED TO PROMOTE YOUR BOOK—AND HOW TO USE THEM. We will cover using a WordPress website, email lists, giveaways, social media, blogging, online groups, events, and more—as well as which of the thousands of tools are essential, and which you can let go.
  • HOW THESE TOOLS WORK TOGETHER IN A FLOW to gather your people and point them toward your book. What are the best ways to connect with new people? What do you do with them once you’ve gathered them?
  • HOW TO STAY GROUNDED AND HAPPY in the midst of potential overwhelm and chaos, and how to have fun by knowing your purpose, your people, your platform, and your plan. In the face of a million book promotion activities, some people try to do everything. Others simply let their eyes roll back in their heads and do nothing. We will cover how to choose and focus on which promotional activities are best for you.

Authors have never had as much access to free or inexpensive promotion—or as much information about how to use it—as we have today. The key to success is knowing how to cull that information, use what will work for you, and enjoy doing the activities you have chosen. That is the essence of this workshop.
