Journey to the End of the Night

Feb 02 - 6:00pm - 7:30pm

This was Celine’s first novel, published in 1932. Inspired by his work as a doctor with the poor near Paris, it was rejected at first by publishers who deemed it too controversial, but it immediately became an international bestseller. Known for his squalid settings, unrestricted language, acidic satire, and misanthropic narrators, he published his novels under a pseudonym in order to continue his medical practice without fanfare.
