Now is the perfect time to join the Proust Society of America at the Mechanics’ Institute! The new semester, and the beginning of a new 3-year cycle examining Marcel Proust’s masterpiece In Search of Lost Time, will start on September 10th. Dr. Mark Calkins, Proust expert and SFSU lecturer, leads the discussions of the Proust Group and the World Literature Group on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month.
The Proust Group, meeting on Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., will read and discuss Proust’s Swann's Way, volume one of In Search of Lost Time, during this semester.
The new semester begins on September 10, and both groups welcome new members. Fees per semester are $70 for Mechanics' Institute members, and $100 for non-members. Registration is through EventBrite. For more information, contact Dr. Calkins at [email protected] or Diane Lai at [email protected].
