In July 1910, the new nine-storey building at 57 
        Post Street was completed. On July 15, the Institute moved into its headquarters.

Reviewed and Evaluated Subject Directories

The web sites selected for inclusion in these directories make up a small subset of all of the web sites on the World Wide Web. These subject directories, maintained by individuals or groups of individuals,in many cases professional librarians, provide authoritative online information covering a wide variety of subjects.
  •  The Digital Librarian : a librarian's choice of the best of the Web.
    Maintained by Margaret Vail Anderson, a librarian in Cortland, New York
  •  Ibiblio: the Public's Library and Digital Archive, is supported by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

  •  INFOMINE is maintained by librarians from the University of California, Wake Forest University, California State University, the University of Detroit - Mercy, and other universities and colleges. It is a virtual library of Internet resources relevant to faculty, students, and research staff at the university level.

  •  Internet Public Library is maintained by the University of Michigan School of Information and hosted by Drexel University’s College of Information Science and Technology.

  •  Internet Scout Project located at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's campus, provides educators, students, researchers and librarians with ways of staying informed about the most valuable online resources.

  •  Intute based in the UK, is a free online service providing access to the very best web resources for education and research. All material is evaluated and selected by a network of subject specialists.

  •  Librarians' Internet Index (LII) is a publicly-funded website, which features dozens of high-quality websites carefully selected, described, and organized by a team of librarians.

  •  World Wide Web Virtual Library (VL) is the oldest catalogue of the Web, started by Tim Berners-Lee in 1991 at CERN in Geneva. Run by a loose confederation of volunteers, who compile pages of key links for particular areas in which they are expert, the VL pages are widely recognized as being amongst the highest-quality guides to particular sections of the Web.
