At Mechanics’ Institute, we believe chess is more than just a game — it’s a powerful tool for education, connection, and personal growth. Through our Chess in the Community initiative, we bring the benefits of chess beyond our walls and into parks across San Francisco.

Sundays at UN Plaza

11:00-2:00

Join us as we use chess to build stronger, smarter, and more connected communities. We're currently in our offseason but regularly run programs at Mechanics' Plaza, UN Plaza, Union Square, and Yerba Buena Gardens.
