2018 San Francisco Scholastic Chess Championship

Event starts at 10:00 a.m. Check in 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. (rated section 9:00 - 9:50 a.m.).

Mechanics' Institute is proud to host the 2018 San Francisco Chess Championship, assisted by Bright Knights Chess Club. The tournament will be divided into 6 sections: K-1, 2-3, 4-5, Middle School, High School, and USCF-rated.

COUNTY FAIR BUILDING IN GOLDEN GATE PARK (NINTH AVENUE AND LINCOLN WAY)

OPEN TO

All San Francisco-area students in kindergarten through 12th grade. This tournament will let aspiring young masters compete for trophies and the respect of their peers. Free to all participants!

PLAY BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 11:00 A.M.

Except for the USCF-rated section, which starts at 10:00 a.m. Play will conclude at 3:00 p.m. Awards ceremony at 3:15 p.m. All participants will play 4 games, regardless if they win or lose.

WHAT TO BRING

We highly recommend you bring a picnic lunch and beverages.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Online registration is encouraged and can be completed at 2018sfscc.eventbrite.com or using the form below. Online registration will close at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23rd. After that time, limited on-site registration will be available. Each participant will be given a souvenir T-shirt and one bottle of water upon check-in.
