Monday Night Writers' Group
Monday, Aug 18 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Are you looking a (virtual) space to write after Mechanics' Institute closes down on Mondays?
The Monday Night Writers' Group is looking for up to three new members for our bi-weekly writers' group. We hear 3 to 4 pieces during each bi-weekly session. Presenters generally read 10-15 pages (2000 to 4000 words) of their own work aloud, followed by 15 to 20 minutes of feedback. Ideally everyone gets to present their work once a month.
Participants present novel chapters, short stories, memoirs, plays and screenplays. We understand that each author brings a unique voice, perspective, and subject matter, so our purpose is to forward the authors’ own vision through honest, focused feedback. We have experience in supporting a variety of genres and get excited by new writing, styles, and experimentation. Above all, we’re there for each other through the thick and thin of the writing process, and we have fun along the way.
If you wish to join this group, email Nico Chen at nchen@milibrary.org. Please mention something in this email about the project that you plan to work on.
