Considered by Tyler to be her best work, Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the Pen/Faulkner Award in 1983. The novel chronicles the lives of the flawed and quirky Tull family from the perspectives of each of the family members who, although they lived through the same events, do not seem to remember events happening in the same way. It is a beautifully written and memorable novel.
