Tournament Rules

Whether you have been a club member or just joined, please consider playing in our upcoming 2026 Mechanics' Institute Women's Online Tournament.

The format has been designed to be very accommodating and flexible and to allow our girls and women to participate in an exclusive tournament.

The tournament is planned as a 5-round event, from Nov 1 to Dec 13. With possibility to skip the Thanksgiving week if people are busy.

The time control will be based on what the majority wants: G/30+5 or  G/60+5
(Game in 30 or 60 minutes with a 5-second increment).

If we get enough players, we will create two sections to provide a better experience for everyone.

How does it work?

1. You sign up using the Google Form.

2. I will be pairing every Sunday morning and post the pairings here and on the chess.com club page as an announcement.

3. You have an entire week to schedule and play your game with your opponent on Chess.com.

4. On Saturday evening, I will collect all the results from your game history, and on Sunday morning, I will post the standings and the new pairings for the next week.

Standings

Weekly announced pairings and standings will be posted here and in the Mechanics' Institute Women's Club on Chess.com:
