A bomb explodes at the Old Rimrock post office, killing a bystander. An anti-Vietnam War teen, Merry Levov, is behind the bombing. Seymour "the Swede" Irving Levov's idyllic post-war family is upended when Merry goes into permanent hiding from the authorities. American Pastoral won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1998.

 

World Literature is a member-led group. It's free to all members, and all are welcome to attend. Many of the selections discussed are critically acclaimed works translated into English. World Literature Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month (excluding holidays).
