The Goodbye Girl (1977)
A Fine Romance!

Directed by Herbert Ross
Richard Dreyfuss, Marcia Mason

Paula, an unemployed dancer, and her ten-year-old daughter have been unexpectedly dumped by Paula's lover. As a parting shot, he has subleased their Manhattan apartment to Elliot, a hungry actor from Chicago. Paula must contend with this unwanted roommate while Elliot is faced with a director who thinks Elliot should play Richard III as gay. Both Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason shine in this funny, endearing love story about two aspiring performers discovering each other.
