Long Form Writing Critique Group
"Open House"

The Long Form Writing Critique Group is seeking new members. Come attend this "Open House" to see if this group is right for you.

Participants present novel chapters, short stories, memoirs, plays, screenplays, poems and essays. We understand that each author brings a unique voice, perspective, and subject matter, so our purpose is to forward the authors’ own vision through honest, focused feedback. We have experience in supporting a wide variety of genres and get excited by new writing, styles, and experimentation. Above all, we’re there for each other through the thick and thin of the writing process, and we have fun along the way. Please note, this is a group for experienced writers so we do not focus on teaching writing or how to publish or sell work.

We meet from 5:30 to 8:00 PM, every other Monday and hear up to 4 pieces each session. Presenters generally read 10-15 pages of their own work aloud, followed by 15 minutes of feedback. We also accommodate shorter work when appropriate. Commitment to attendance is essential to give and receive consistent feedback.
