Join us for tea and a discussion with clinical pharmacist Ivy Ge on common medications and safety for seniors. Her talk will cover:

  • How does aging affect medication absorption, metabolism, distribution, and excretion
  • What class of medications are considered dangerous to the elderly
  • How to monitor medications side effects and seek medical help before it's too late
  • Common causes for hospital admissions and ways to prevent them
  • Where to find research-proven dietary recommendations and supplements that you can trust
  • How to effectively communicate with your doctor about your medication-related concerns

Dr. Ivy Ge is an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and Critical Care Pharmacist (BCCCP).
