The Setting Sun

In postwar Japan, an aristocratic family must move from Tokyo to the provincial Izu due to financial constraints resulting from the death of their father. Told through the voice of unmarried daughter Kazuko, The Setting Sun, originally published in 1947, captures change from traditional values in postwar Japan.

This group meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month (excluding holidays). All MI members are welcome to drop in to these meetings.
