"The Tomb of Wrestling"
by Jo Ann Beard

Joan is in a moment of crisis. An intruder raids her kitchen after nearly choking her to death. An experimental story about a home invasion, "The Tomb of Wrestling" changes the reader's point of view and takes a nonlinear approach to storytelling. "The Tomb of Wrestling" was awarded a 2018 The O. Henry Prize as one of the best short stories of the year.

Originally published in Tin House Issue 70, members can read "The Tomb of Wrestling" by checking out The O. Henry Prize stories 2018, or by reading our reference copy of Tin House Issue 70, both available from the 2nd Floor circulation desk.
