The Untouchables (1987)
January 2020 - Speakeasy! Prohibition at 100

Friday, January 31, 2020 - 6:00pm

Directed by Brian De Palma | Kevin Costner, Sean Connery

Prohibition-era Chicago is brought back to life in this new take on Eliot Ness’ incorruptible “untouchables,” his team of prohibition agents who fought police corruption and brought down the legendary Al Capone. Kevin Costner is more straight-arrow than the real Eliot Ness, and Robert De Niro is a terrifying Capone, but it’s Sean Connery as Ness’ tough, more experienced mentor, who truly shines. One of Ness’s original Untouchables, Al “Wallpaper” Wolf, was a consultant on this film, and helped Costner with his portrayal of Eliot Ness.
