Directed by Raoul Walsh | George Raft, Ida Lupino
George Raft and Humphrey Bogart star as Joe and Paul Fabrini, wildcat truck drivers who are constantly fighting fatigue and debt as they race to get produce to California wholesalers. Throw in a sharp-tongued waitress (Ann Sheridan), a treacherous seductress (Ida Lupino), screeching brakes, corruption, and a juicy courtroom scene, and the result is an engrossing and satisfying film. Of course, Raft, Bogart, and Sheridan are good, -- but nobody could play a man-hungry, unbalanced vixen like Ida Lupino. (“I saw the doors. The doors made me do it! Yes! The doors made me do it!”)
